Apple announced today that they will be releasing the latest version of their Safari web browser for Windows!

Public Beta Available Today for Mac & Windows
Apple introduced Safari 3, dubbed the worlds quickest and most user friendly web browser for windows PCs and Apple Macs. Apple proudly boast that Safari is apparently the quickest browser that runs on Windows, and bases that statement on industry standard iBench tests. But how much faster? Well Apple state that Safari 3 will render web papges up to twice as fast as Internet Explorer 7 and up to 1.6 times faster than the popular Firefox 2. With integration into iTunes and a built in RSS reader, Safari 3 has really upped the competition for other windows based web browsers.

Steve Job's, Apple's CEO states "Hundreds of millions of Windows users already use iTunes, and we look forward to turning them onto Safari's superior browsing experience too." Quite a broad statement don't you think? Well personally, I say good luck to him. Apple's contribution to the computing industry so far has been magnificent.

The free public beta of Safari 3 is available for download at www.apple.com/safari . Unfortunately this is a trial based trial only, but will be avalable as a free download for both Windows users and Mac OS X Tiger users this October.
